kiln pad with a bonus...

well, the kiln pad is poured...yea!...and I should be able to start working on rebuilding the kiln soon. it was a little bit scary for a while--that's alot of concrete coming at once. luckily I had some great help...thanks chad and david--and it looks really good.

when doing the underslab prep, I realized that I had way too much gravel inside the form, so I put in a walkway from The parking pad to the steps--i'm going to finish it off with some large rocks on the border. totally free walkway...gotta love it!

calling all concrete lovers......

anybody interested in helping pour a concrete/kiln pad on friday at 1:00? I could use an extra couple of hands--bring your boots and come on over......

I took a glaze workshop with John Britt a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. If you are interested in his workshops, check out his website, he has a schedule of his workshops there.

In other news, I i spent the day building the concrete forms for the kiln pad that will hopefully be pouring over the weekend...yea! it's long overdue--it's been hard to go without a kiln for this long, it will be great to get rebuilding it checked off the list. pics to come soon.................anyone for a concrete party?.....................

500 vases...

i love the 500 series that lark books does I have two images in the 500 bowls book--they are such beautiful books, with tons of amazing work. here's My entries for the 500 vases book that's coming out soon...

we got another light dusting of snow last night, not much, but enough to be really beautiful this morning. crazy--it was 60 degrees a couple of days ago, and this morning--snow!--gotta love north carolina weather...
